Who they were
The apostolic letter for her beatification records that she was born at Quezaltenango in Guatemala on 26 October 1820 and baptised Maria Vicenta, that she received the habit of the Bethlemite sisters at Guatemala City in 1838 taking the name Mary of the Incarnation of the Heart of Jesus, and that she was given the task of restoring the earlier observance, becoming superior in 1855, writing new constitutions for the Bethlemite sisters and working in several countries of South America. She was beatified on 4 May 1997 by Pope John Paul II.
