Nun of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Near Madrid in Spain, Blessed Maria Gabriela Hinojosa y Naveros and five companions, virgins of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary and martyrs, were arrested by a trick by the militiamen although enclosed in their monastery, and went to meet Christ their Bridegroom shot dead.
The Acta Apostolicae Sedis carry the decree on the martyrdom of Maria Gabriela Hinojosa y Naveros and six companion nuns of the Order of the Visitation, killed in 1936, and record that they were beatified at Rome on 10 May 1998 by John Paul II.

As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
She was arrested from her monastery and shot for the faith during the Spanish persecution.
