Who they were
At Auschwitz near Kraków in Poland, Blessed Maria Klemensa of Jesus Crucified Staszewska, virgin of the Order of Saint Ursula and martyr, who, during the war, confined for her faith in the inhuman prison of this extermination camp, died worn down by tortures.

The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 27 July as an Ursuline martyr who died under torture at Auschwitz.
