Who they were
Maria Leonis Müller, Käthe Elisabeth in the world, was born at Gdańsk on 3 February 1913 and made her religious profession on 2 May 1938, serving in 1944 in the administration of the Marienkrankenhaus at Allenstein. Captured by the Red Army on 22 January 1945, imprisoned on 27 January, moved to the camp of Zichenau on 9 February and deported to Russia on 16 March, she died there, probably on 5 June 1945, of the violence she had suffered. Pope Leo XIV beatified her on 31 May 2025.

Why that counted as sanctity
She was repeatedly raped by eight Soviet soldiers, then imprisoned and deported, and died at the age of thirty-one.
