Who they were
Marie-Louise-Josèphe Vanot was an Ursuline nun of Valenciennes, France, known in religion as Marie-Natalie of Saint Louis. She lived her rule faithfully and won the esteem of the families whose children she taught, for the great care she gave to their education.
During the Revolution she was condemned with her sisters, and on 17 October 1794 she was among the first five nuns led to execution, going up to the scaffold reciting the Miserere. Benedict XV declared her Blessed with the other Ursulines of Valenciennes on 13 June 1920.
