Who they were
Costanza Starace was born at Castellammare di Stabia on 5 September 1845 and was schooled by the Daughters of Charity, which moved her to consecrate herself to God.
As Mother Maria Maddalena she founded the Compassionist Sisters Servants of Mary, living the theological and cardinal virtues in faith and abandonment to God's will. She died of pneumonia on 13 December 1921.

The miracle for her beatification was approved on 21 October 2004; the biography does not describe it.
