Antwerp-born Discalced Carmelite who founded the Carmel of Oirschot
Who they were
Maria Margaretha van Valckenisse entered the Discalced Carmelites in Antwerp at nineteen and in 1644 founded the Carmel of Blijendaal at Oirschot, living a severely ascetic life and reported by contemporaries to have had visions and the stigmata; she has been called the Holy Nun of Oirschot for centuries. The Dutch Discalced Carmelite nuns give her birth as 26 May 1605 in Antwerp, agreeing with the Hagiography Circle record.

Why that counted as sanctity
The diocese of 's-Hertogenbosch began a beatification process for her, opened on 25 March 2013 with the nihil obstat in 2014.
