The decree on martyrdom describes her as a professed religious of the Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity, born on 9 June 1888 in the valley of Orozco in the diocese of Vitoria, who made temporary vows on 27 August 1916 and perpetual vows on 11 December 1921; in the world she was María Prima Ipina Malzárraga. She was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI.
