María Severina Díaz-Pardo Gauna was born at Vitoria, in the province of Alava, on 23 October 1895, made her religious vows as a Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul in 1922 and served as a teacher of music. She was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis, among the companions of Melchora de la Adoracion Cortés Bueno.
