Who they were
A professed sister of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, in religion Maria Stella of the Blessed Sacrament and in the world Adelaida, born on 14 December 1888 at Ciasnówka in the archdiocese of Vilnius. She and ten companions of the Nowogródek community were shot by enemies of religion in the forest near the town in 1943. She was beatified on 5 March 2000 by John Paul II.
