Who they were

Born at Saint-Pierre d'Irube in the French Basque country, she founded in Spain the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary, canonically erected on 12 December 1930, with its mother house at San Sebastián and later houses in France, China, Uruguay, Thailand, Argentina and Honduras.

The miracles

No miracle has been approved. The decree on heroic virtues has been promulgated; a miracle would come next.

Why that counted as sanctity

The diocesan inquiry ran at San Sebastián from 21 December 1988 to 9 April 1992 and the decree on her heroic virtues was promulgated on 16 July 2015; the Valencia diocesan weekly Paraula calls her Venerable.

The cause

María Teresa Dupouy Bordes has been declared Venerable; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: The cause of María Teresa Dupouy Bordes.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
