The apostolic letter of her beatification describes Louis Martin and Zélie-Marie Guérin as a married couple and parents who, by the strength of the sacrament of marriage and after the example of the family of Nazareth, bore witness to their love for God, the Virgin Mary, the poor and the missions, and gave themselves to their children, among whom is Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus.
She was beatified with her husband at Lisieux on 19 October 2008 by Benedict XVI, and the two were canonised in Rome on 18 October 2015 by Francis.
