Who they were
Marija Petković was born on 10 December 1892 at Blato on the island of Korčula, Croatia, the sixth of eight children of exemplary Christian parents, and was drawn to piety and mercy from childhood.
As Mother Marija of Jesus Crucified she gave herself with ardour to prayer and good works and founded the Daughters of Mercy of the Franciscan Third Order to serve the sick and the outcast.

The decree on a miracle through her intercession was published on 20 December 2002; the biography does not describe it.
