Who they were
Marta Maria Wiecka was born at Nowy Wiec, Poland, on 12 January 1874, the third of thirteen children of a well-off Catholic couple. At two she was gravely ill and recovered after her family turned to the Mother of God of Piaseczno.
She became a Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul.
The miracles
She was beatified in a rite presided over by Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone. The Dicastery's biography does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.
Why that counted as sanctity
A Daughter of Charity whose short life was given wholly to God and to others.
