Who they were
In Persia, Saint Martha, virgin and martyr, who on the day after the killing of her father Pusicius, the day of the Lord's Resurrection, suffered martyrdom under King Shapur II.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 19 April as a virgin martyred in Persia under King Shapur II, the day after her father Pusicius was killed.
