Martin Lumbreras Peralta

Who they were
Martín Lumbreras Peralta was born at Zaragoza in 1598, of a noble family, took the habit of the Augustinian Recollects at Borja and made his vows at Zaragoza in 1619. In July 1622 he sailed from Cádiz for the Philippines.
At Manila he was sacristan and then for eight years master of novices, spreading devotion to Our Lady of the Pillar. Going to Japan, he was arrested as soon as he entered Nagasaki, thrown into a dark cell and burned alive in 1632.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

A novice master who went to Japan and was burned for the faith.
