In the monastery of Vertou in the territory of Retz in France, Saint Martin, deacon and abbot, whom Saint Felix, bishop of Nantes, sent to convert the pagans of that region.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
