Who they were
In the village of Zhoujiahe near the city of Yingxian in the province of Hebei in China, the martyrdom of Saints Léon-Ignace Mangin and Paul Denn, priests of the Society of Jesus, who in the Boxer persecution, while solicitously encouraging the faithful in the church, were run through before the altar by the enemies who had burst in. With them died Saint Mary Zhu (Zhou Wuzhi), who, wishing to shield with her own body Saint Léon, the minister of the celebration, fell mortally wounded.

Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 20 July as the woman who died shielding Father Léon-Ignace Mangin with her own body at the altar.
