Kadalikkattil was a parish priest in Kerala who founded the Sacred Heart Congregation of sisters in 1911 and opened schools, including one for Dalit children.

The cause was begun on 24 January 1989 and the diocesan tribunal was inaugurated at Palai on 24 June 1989 under Bishop Joseph Pallickaparampil, closing on 12 January 1991; Benedict XVI signed the decree on his heroic virtues on 27 June 2011.
