Why that counted as sanctity
Nardella was a priest of San Marco in Lamis; the archdiocese of Foggia-Bovino lists him among the saints of its local church as Servant of God Matteo Nardella (1921-1976). The Holy See gave the nihil obstat on 4 September 2018 and the diocesan inquiry opened on 13 February 2019.
