Matthew Kim Hyeon-u was one of the martyrs of Korea. The list of the Korean martyrs published by the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints records that he was killed at Seoul on 2 July 1801, at the age of 26; he was beatified on 16 August 2014 by Pope Francis.
