At Omura in Japan, Blessed Apollinaris Franco, of the Order of Friars Minor, and Thomas Zumárraga, of the Order of Preachers, priests, and four companions, martyrs, who in hatred of the Christian faith were thrown into prison and then put to the stake.
Among those named is Blessed Matthew of Saint Thomas Chiwiato, religious of the Order of Preachers.
