Who they were

A religious of the Congregation of the Passion, born on 15 March 1915 at Villafría in the diocese of Palencia and professed on 23 October 1932; he was finishing his course in philosophy when he was shot with his community at Carabanchel Bajo on 23 July 1936. He was beatified on 1 October 1989 by John Paul II, among Nicéforo Díez Tejerina and twenty-five companions of the Congregation of the Passion.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology names him among the Passionist martyrs of Spain.
