Who they were
At Srijem in Pannonia, in present-day Croatia, the holy martyrs Montanus, priest, and Maxima, husband and wife, who, for having professed their faith in Christ the Lord, were thrown into the sea by some unbelievers.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 26 March as the wife of the priest Montanus, thrown into the sea with him at Srijem for professing faith in Christ.
