Maximus of Chinon

Who they were

Near Chinon in the territory of Tours in the region of Aquitaine in France, Saint Maximus, a disciple of Saint Martin, who was first a monk on the Ile-Barbe at Lyons and then founded a monastery on the river Vienne, in which he died full of days.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 20 August as a disciple of Saint Martin who founded a monastery on the river Vienne near Chinon and died there full of days.
