At Košice in the Carpathian mountains, in present-day Slovakia, the holy martyrs Mark Crisin, priest of Esztergom, Stephen Pongracz and Melchior Grodziecki, priests of the Society of Jesus, whom neither hunger nor the tortures of the wheel and of fire could induce to deny the Catholic faith.
