Who they were
Melchora de la Adoracion Cortés Bueno was born on 4 January 1894 at Sos del Rey Catolico near Zaragoza, made her religious vows as a Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul in 1919, and between 1924 and 1936 was a teacher at Leganes and directress of the College of the Immaculate Virgin Mary there. She was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis, at the head of a group of fifteen Daughters of Charity killed between 1936 and 1937.
