Michał Sopoćko
Polish Roman Catholic priest and blessed, Apostle of Divine Mercy (1888–1975)

Who they were
Michał Sopoćko was born on 1 November 1888 at Juszewszczyzna, between Minsk and Vilnius, and was ordained on 15 June 1914. As a curate he opened two chapels and several schools.
Professor of pastoral theology at Vilnius, he was confessor and spiritual director of St Faustina Kowalska and discerned her visions, and he founded the Sisters of Merciful Jesus. He died with a reputation for holiness at Białystok on 15 February 1975.
