Who they were
On a galley anchored off Rochefort on the French coast, Blessed Michel-Louis Brulard, priest of the Order of Discalced Carmelites and martyr, who during the French Revolution was confined in inhuman conditions because of his priesthood and died worn out by disease.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 25 July as a Discalced Carmelite priest who died of disease on a prison galley off Rochefort during the French Revolution.
