In North Africa, the commemoration of the holy martyrs Namphamo, Miggin, Sanamis and Lucitas, who, on the testimony of the pagan Maximus of Madaura in a letter to Saint Augustine, were held in great veneration among the Christian people.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 18 December as one of the martyrs of North Africa whom, on the testimony of the pagan Maximus of Madaura writing to Saint Augustine, the Christian people held in great veneration.
