Who they were
Miguel de la Mora was born at Tecalitlán, Jalisco, on 19 June 1878, and was chaplain of Colima cathedral: a simple, modest priest, especially charitable to the poor.
When Colima demanded the registration of priests, the bishop and his clergy refused, and the government expelled them. Father Miguel hid to go on helping the faithful, and was discovered and killed. He was one of the 25 martyrs of the Mexican persecution, led by St Cristóbal Magallanes, most of them priests killed for exercising their ministry.
