Who they were
Miguel Romero Rojas was born at Coín on 26 December 1911 and ordained priest on 14 June 1936; less than a month later he was taken into custody and ill-treated, and he was killed on 11 August of the same year at the age of 25. He was beatified on 26 February 2022 by Pope Francis among Cayetano Giménez Martín and fifteen companions.
The miracles
As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The decree on martyrdom records that he was put to death in hatred of the faith during the persecution of the Church in Spain.
