Who they were
Moses of Chorene, called by the Armenians 'the father of history', was sent young by St Mesrop to study at Edessa, Constantinople, Alexandria, Athens and Rome, and is said to have helped translate the Bible into Armenian.
He wrote hymns, homilies and a History of Armenia. He lived in the fifth century and is one of the venerable fathers of the Armenian Church.
