Moses of Rome

Who they were

At Rome, the commemoration of Saint Moses, priest and martyr, who, after the killing of Pope Saint Fabian under the emperor Decius, together with the college of presbyters took care of the faithful; he judged it necessary to reconcile those who during the persecution had denied the faith and were at that moment sick and at the point of death, and, held a long time in prison, he often consoled them by reading them the letters of Saint Cyprian of Carthage; at last he crowned his life with a notable and wonderful martyrdom.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 25 November as a priest and martyr at Rome who cared for the faithful after Pope Saint Fabian was killed and consoled the dying lapsed in prison with the letters of Saint Cyprian of Carthage.
