Who they were

At Homs in Syria, the commemoration of Saint Silvanus, bishop, who, after leading that Church for forty years, was at last, under the Emperor Maximinus, thrown to the wild beasts together with the deacon Luke and the reader Mucius, and received the palm of martyrdom.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 6 February as a reader thrown to the wild beasts at Homs with his bishop Saint Silvanus.
