Who they were
In the city of Manzanares in New Castile in Spain, Blesseds Nicéforo de Jesús y María (Vicente) Díez Tejerina, priest, and five companions of the Congregation of the Passion, martyrs, who, in time of persecution, having remained faithful to their religious vocation, received the crown of martyrdom by shooting.

Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 23 July as a Passionist priest shot at Manzanares with five companions for remaining faithful to their religious vocation.
