Who they were
Nicesio Pérez del Palomar Quincoces was born at Tuesta in Álava on 2 April 1859 and professed in 1891. In the communities where he lived he worked as a carpenter, a farmer, a beekeeper and a builder; elderly and nearly blind, he was seized on 14 August 1936 and killed two days later, and Pope Francis beatified him on 22 October 2022.
