Who they were
Giovanni Medda was born at Gesturi, near Cagliari, on 5 August 1882, the sixth of seven children of a humble, deeply religious family.
As a Capuchin brother, called by the people 'Brother Silence', he spread an aura of spirituality: freed of the superfluous, always ready to help those in need, by his example of virtue and goodness he moved many to charity towards the poor.
