Nimattullah Kassab

Who they were
Youssef Kassab was born in 1808 at Hardin in northern Lebanon and grew up in the monastic tradition of the Maronite Church. As a Lebanese Maronite monk, Nimatullah, he spent every spare moment, even his rest, visiting the Blessed Sacrament.
Ordained priest, he directed the scholasticate and taught theology until his last years; in 1845 the Holy See named him Assistant General of his order for his exemplary observance. He was outstanding for prayer and penance and devoted to the education of the young and to pastoral work.
