Who they were

Noël Tenaud, a priest of the Paris Foreign Missions Society, was fifty-seven years old and was evangelising the province of Savannakhet with a catechist; a Protestant pastor advised the two to take refuge in the town as he had done, but they chose instead to go on towards the villages of catechumens, and caught between two lines of fire they were seized and killed on 27 April 1961.

He was beatified on 11 December 2016 by Pope Francis, among the martyrs of Laos.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints names him among the martyrs of Laos beatified on 11 December 2016.
