Who they were
In the monastery of Saint Gall in Swabia, in the territory of present-day Switzerland, Blessed Notker the Stammerer, monk, who spent almost his whole life in this monastery, devoting himself to the composition of numerous sequences; frail in body but not in soul, stammering in voice but not in spirit, he was profound in the divine sciences, patient in adversity, gentle towards all, diligent in prayer, reading, meditation and writing.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 6 April as a monk of Saint Gall who composed numerous sequences and was profound in the divine sciences.
