Who they were

Obdulia Puchol Merino was a laywoman, born at Martos on 2 May 1900 and sister-in-law of the priest Francisco Raimundo Martínez Baeza, who was killed on 8 December 1936 at the age of 36 after an attempt to violate her. She was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV among the 124 martyrs of Jaén.
