Who they were
At Trondheim in Norway, Saint Olaf, martyr, who, king of his people, spread in his kingdom the Christian faith he had come to know in England, scrupulously stamping out idolatry, but finally died pierced by the sword during an attack by his enemies.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 29 July as the martyr king who spread the Christian faith in Norway.
