Who they were
Osmund, a Norman noble and trusted counsellor of William the Conqueror, became chancellor of England and helped draw up the Domesday Book.
Consecrated Bishop of Salisbury in 1078, he served his diocese faithfully and died on the night of 3 December 1099.
