Who they were
Brother Norberto José (Pablo Díaz de Zárate y Ortiz de Zárate) was born at Murua, in Álava, on 25 January 1892, and made his perpetual vows as a Brother of the Christian Schools in 1902. He taught in Madrid, El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz and Seville, and was sent to the Madrid procure on 2 January 1935. He was killed on 30 July 1936.
Pope Benedict XVI declared him a martyr in 2011, and he was beatified at Tarragona on 13 October 2013 with his companions.

Why that counted as sanctity
One of sixteen De La Salle Brothers killed in Madrid in the religious persecution of 1936-1937, beatified as martyrs in 2013.
