Paolo Uchibori Sakuyemon is named among the 188 martyrs of Japan beatified on 24 November 2008 by Benedict XVI. The Dicastery's list records him as a noble samurai of 47, killed on 28 February 1627, his whole family having been killed a week earlier on 21 February 1627.
