Who they were
At Pergamum in Asia, in present-day Turkey, the holy martyrs Carpus, bishop of Thyatira, Papylus, deacon, Agathonica, sister of Papylus, and many others, who for their blessed profession of faith received the crown of martyrdom.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 13 April as a deacon martyred at Pergamum with Bishop Carpus for professing the faith.
