Who they were
In the territory of Xixiaodun near Xinhexian in the province of Hebei in China, Saint Paul Ge Tingzhu, martyr, who, leader of the Christians of the place, during the persecution unleashed by the followers of the Boxer sect, was flayed piece by piece and was an extraordinary example of steadfastness to the others.

The Roman Martyrology does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 8 August as a leader of the local Christians martyred in Hebei during the Boxer persecution.
