Who they were
Paul Josef Nardini was born at Germersheim on the Rhine on 25 July 1821 to a single mother, Margaret Lichtenberger, who, unemployed and unable to care for him, entrusted him to her aunt, married to Anton Nardini, whose surname he took.
A diocesan priest, he founded in Germany the Franciscan Sisters of the Holy Family.

Benedict XVI recognised a miracle through his intercession on 26 June 2006; the biography does not describe it.

A child of poverty, raised by relatives, who became a priest and founder.
