Who they were
Paola Frassinetti was born and baptised in Genoa on 3 March 1809, the only daughter among five children.
Overcoming many early difficulties, she founded the Sisters of St Dorothy for the Christian formation of girls, giving herself to the work with strength of soul and gentleness joined to energetic passion. In 1841, seven years after the foundation, she went to Rome.
